Mind-blowing comparison of Murray's new NFL deal, A's payroll

Arizona Cardinals star Kyler Murray is set for the next couple of years after landing a deal that makes him one of the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks.

The 24-year-old signal-caller has agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $230.5 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday, citing sources.

Murray, who signed with the Athletics but never suited up after getting selected ninth overall out of Oklahoma in the 2018 MLB Draft, will be making $46.1 million per year.

The A’s have a payroll of $48.5 million this season, per Spotrac.

After deciding to continue with football instead of beginning his professional baseball career, Murray entered the 2019 NFL Draft where he was the No. 1 pick by the Cardinals. The A's still retain his MLB rights.

As the only player to ever be drafted in the first round of both the NFL and MLB drafts, Murray has previously stated that he won't rule out a return to the diamond, saying that he misses baseball and wishes he could do both.

But with Murray's success so far in the NFL and the money that is backing that up, it seems, as of now at least, that he made the right decision.
