Hendriks brings cardboard cutout of pet cat to A's bullpen

Liam Hendriks roars like a lion on the mound. Both in good, and not so good scenarios, and perhaps it’s because he has his pet cat looking over his shoulder.

Literally.

A cardboard cutout of the A’s closer’s cat, Winnie Sanderson Hendriks, was at Dodger Stadium in the bullpen as Liam warmed up on Wednesday in the A's 9-7 Game 3 win of the AL Division Series.

Given Hendriks' incredible three-inning save, it appeared to work. His wife, Kristi, later would confirm that this was, in fact, his cat.

Hendriks struck out four in his three innings, giving up just one hit and helped get out of a pressure-packed jam in the eighth inning by striking out Josh Reddick.

Reddick wasn’t too happy about it, and created his own Bo Jackson moment, but what can ya do?

Either way, Hendriks is one very proud cat dad. But we already knew that.

No word on whether Winnie Sanderson will travel with the A's if their season continues after this series.
