Chapman rocks Klay's ‘Oakland Forever' jersey after A's loss

Everyone loves Warriors star Klay Thompson, including Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman.

Chapman showed up to his press conference after the A's lost to the Yankees 7-6 on Thursday rocking Klay's No. 11 "Oakland Forever" jersey.

The A's dropped their fifth straight game Thursday, and Chapman was hoping Klay's jersey would change the fortunes of the Green and Gold.

"Thought it was going to bring some good mojo today, but I'm going to have to put this one away for a little bit," Chapman told reporters when asked by The Mercury News' Shayna Rubin about the Klay jersey. "But I do love the jersey, and Klay Thompson is awesome."

Thompson has missed the last two NBA seasons, first with a torn left ACL and then with a torn right Achilles. The three-time NBA champion is expected to return during the 2021-22 season, with the Warriors reportedly targeting their Christmas day game against the Phoenix Suns for his debut.

While Klay is getting closer to a return, it sounds like his jersey won't be making a second appearance during Chapman's postgame press conferences.
