Mark Canha has spent his entire seven-year MLB career with only one team: The Athletics.
However, the A's did not extend the $18.4 million qualifying offer to Canha, making the outfielder/first baseman a free agent. It appears he's a hot commodity on the open market, too.
FanSided's Robert Murray reported Friday that Canha is generating strong interest from West Coast teams. On Monday morning, Murray again reported that Canha has a "strong" market early in free agency.

This could be the best-case scenario for Canha. He grew up in San Jose, went to college at Cal and still could stay close to home even if his time with the A's has come to an end.
Canha, who turns 33 years old in February, slashed .231/.358/.387 last season. He hit 17 home runs, which were the second-most in his career. He also tied or set career highs in doubles (22), triples (4), RBI (61), runs (93), hits (120) and stolen bases (12).

Over the last three seasons, Canha has a .377 on-base percentage with an .816 OPS. He also has shown defensive versatility and played all three outfield positions last season. If needed, Canha can also play first base.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that he's a wanted man this offseason. The only question is, for how much money? For that, we will have to wait and see.
