NFL insider says Kyler Murray situation is ‘LaVar Ball all over again'

What do Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, and Kyler Murray all have in common? We have no idea if any of them will show up to Spring Training this season as part of a baseball team or not.

While we can discuss the back-and-forth with Harper and Machado until we can't stand it anymore, the question still looming around Murray is which sport he ultimately will play.

And guess what? We still don't know.

During his interview with Dan Patrick at Super Bowl week, his awkward demeanor and avoidance of questions only added to the frustration. And those dissatisfactions from his answers, or lack thereof, have an NFL insider comparing the situation to LaVar Ball.

Some preface here: During the interview, Patrick screamed off the set to Murray's dad, Kevin, asking him if the Heisman Trophy winner was going to the combine. His dad didn't have a comment either.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller said this insider also said Murray is "still going in the first [round], but he needs to hire a f---ing agent and do it the right way." It appears Murray's dad, like LaVar Ball was with his son Lonzo, has been in control of most of the decision-making.

The Lonzo/LaVar, father/son situation is -- well, an interesting one. But this shouldn't be a shocking scenario.

Newsflash: When your father is a former athlete, he's going to be the guy you go toward when you're making one of the biggest decisions of your life.

Plus, Murray has made it clear he's sick of the same questions being asked of him. And as mentioned, all of those questions that he's remained tight-lipped about will be answered very soon.
