A's notes: Oakland allows no earned runs in three-game Tigers sweep

OAKLAND — For the first time since 1918, the A's went an entire three-game series without allowing an earned run.

The only run Detroit scored in the series was an unearned run in the first inning Saturday night. Oakland starting pitchers have allowed just three earned runs in their last 37 innings, for an ERA of 0.73.

--- The A's improved to 46-0 when leading at the end of the seventh inning, and 54-0 when leading at the end of the eighth.

--- Trevor Cahill has won three straight starts for the first time since 2012, when he did it as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

--- Matt Olson hit his 22nd home run of the season, leading all American League first basemen.

--- The A's have won a season-high eight straight home games, as well as 14 of their last 16 at the Coliseum. For the season, Oakland is 32-22 at home, and 35-24 on the road.

--- The Athletics are an MLB-best 12-4 since the All-Star break. They have won 33 of their last 43 games.

--- Oakland improved to 32-8 when hitting two or more home runs in a game. They are 26-17 when hitting one homer, and 9-21 when hitting none.

--- The A's beat Detroit for the 12th straight time, setting a new franchise record for the most consecutive wins against the Tigers.
