A's center fielder Mark Canha left Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels in the seventh inning with a left groin strain.
Canha was chasing a ball hit by Jared Walsh and appeared to pull up and start limping before making an off-balance throw back to the infield at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. A's trainer Nick Paparesta and manager Bob Melvin came out to examine him and quickly removed him from the game.

Canha is having a career year, with a .275/.399/.524 slash line, 26 home runs and 58 RBI. If he is forced to miss time, it would be a significant blow to the A's, who are already short-handed in the outfield with Stephen Piscotty on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right ankle.
In the interim, Oakland likely would field an outfield of Ramon Laureano, Robbie Grossman, and either Chad Pinder or Seth Brown.
