Stephen Piscotty ... is so hot right now.
But really, he's been extremely consistent in the month of August.
Abreu also had an American League-leading 123 RBI last season, so for Piscotty to be in his company is something to boast about.
Piscotty had three RBI of his own in the A’s 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday at the Oakland Coliseum. He’s slashing .253/.310/.468 with four homers this season.
A’s manager Bob Melvin noticed when Piscotty is on it, he’s really on it.
“When he’s healthy, he’s a force and it makes our lineup that much deeper and a guy that can also hit home runs, comes up with big hits,” Melvin said.

Piscotty suffered an intercostal strain in late February and could have been on his way toward an injured list stint if it weren’t for the coronavirus pandemic hiatus. He came back in June prior to summer camp 100 percent ready without any limitations. That break turned out to be a game-changer.
“The time off was key for him because I don’t think he would be able to start the season with us in April,” Melvin added. “So time off has served him well and he’s been doing what Stephen Piscotty does when he’s healthy.”
