The Oakland A's went 5-for-5 on Sunday, but not in the way they wanted to.

Sean Manaea became the fifth pitcher from Oakland's initial starting rotation to miss time with injury, after the A's placed him on the 10-Day DL with a left shoulder impingement.

Manaea allowed one unearned run on 67 pitches across five innings in Oakland's 7-1 win on Friday. His fastball velocity averaged 89.5 miles per hour, which tied for his second-slowest mark of the season. His slowest came on Aug. 1 against Toronto, averaging 89.1 miles per hour.

His injury continued a tough year, injury-wise for the A's rotation. Fellow opening week starters Kendall Graveman and Daniel Gossett (Tommy John surgery), Andrew Triggs (nerve irritation), and Daniel Mengden (foot) have also been placed on the DL in 2018. Jharel Cotton and top prospect A.J. Puk also missed the entirety of the regular season thanks to Tommy John surgery in Spring Training.
