OAKLAND -- A's outfielder Seth Brown spent five long seasons in the minor leagues, dreaming that one day he would get a chance in the majors. Now that he's here, he doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.

The 27-year-old rookie continued his torrid run Tuesday night, going 2-for-3 with two triples, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored as the A's earned a crucial 7-5 win over the Angels at the Oakland Coliseum.

"It was fantastic tonight," Brown said after Oakland's win. "It's hard to describe. It was my first time in the Coliseum tonight. It was just an unbelievable moment and an unbelievable night, and it's something I'll never forget."

Brown actually tied an Oakland single-game record with his two triples, becoming the first A's rookie to accomplish the feat since Mark Ellis in 2002.

"It's incredible," Brown said. "I want to do what I can to help the team and I was able to do that tonight, so it was a dream come true for me."

In eight games since joining the A's from Triple-A, Brown is batting .448 (13-for-29) with two triples, three doubles, eight runs, and nine RBI. He has also been superb defensively, already recording two assists from left field.

"I think the thing that impresses me the most is how confident he is," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "He's pretty tenacious."

Added Brown: "It's just trusting all the work and time that I've put into this. Being confident is just something you have to be and I'm glad I'm able to do it right now."

Melvin will face an interesting decision when star center fielder Ramón Laureano returns from the injured list, possibly as soon as Friday. Mark Canha figures to move from center to right field, leaving Brown, Robbie Grossman, and Chad Pinder battling for playing time in left. But at this point, how can you take Brown out of the lineup?

"He's worthy of the playing time he's getting right now, and I don't see that slowing down at this point," Melvin said. "He's in the big leagues now and he's looking to stay, so he's taking advantage of his opportunity."

As long as Brown keeps playing like this, his name should be on the A's lineup card day in and day out.
