Now that the World Series is over, the A's are free to handle their business and they did just that Monday morning.

The A's announced that they have agreed to long-term extensions with manager Bob Melvin, general manager David Forst and executive vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane.

The team didn't announce specifics on length or value of the contracts, but according to Fancred.com's Jon Heyman, Melvin's new deal runs through 2021 and Forst's deal runs through 2023.

A’s Managing General Partner John Fisher issued the following statement regarding the extensions:

“I’m proud of the tremendous success of our team under the leadership of Billy, David and Bob and am excited to have that continue for years to come."

Beane has been with the A's since 1990. Forst has been with the franchise since 2000 and Melvin has been with the club since 2011.

After finishing in last place the previous three seasons, the A's shocked the baseball world by finishing with 97 wins and securing the second AL Wild Card spot. They had more wins during the regular season than any team in the National League.
