A's tie team record with homers in five straight playoff games

At least we know the A’s can hit the long ball.

Despite the A's facing elimination, they tied a franchise record Wednesday by homering in five consecutive postseason games.

Thanks to Tommy La Stella’s solo home run in the top of the first in Game 3 of the AL Division Series, made sure the streak continued.

According to MLB.com’s Sarah Langs, this also was done in 1988 by the A’s when the team won the AL Pennant.

The A’s have been hitting plenty of home runs as of late, especially this series vs. the Houston Astros at Dodger Stadium with mid-day start time in the Southern California heat. Balls have been flying there. It’s a tough reality for pitchers to face, but they’re used to it by now.

Now, if only the A’s could get some men on base before hitting these homers, perhaps they wouldn’t be down two games-to-none in the best-of-five series.
