Tigers vs. A's lineups: Slumping Khris Davis replaced by Mark Canha

OAKLAND -- The A's look to bounce back from Friday night's disappointing loss as they once again host the league-worst Detroit Tigers.

Oakland designated hitter Khris Davis will get the night off in the midst of an 0-for-17 slump. He is batting just .215 for the season. Mark Canha will serve as DH in Davis' place.

Rookie catcher Sean Murphy will make his second career start and bat ninth. Murphy homered in his major-league debut on Wednesday and is 1-for-4 since joining the A's.

Right-hander Chris Bassitt will make his first start since becoming a father. Bassitt and his wife Jessica welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday.

Bassitt, 30, enters with a 9-5 record and 3.67 ERA in 23 starts this season. In five career starts against the Tigers, he is 3-2 with a 3.41 ERA.

Detroit will counter with veteran right-hander Jordan Zimmermann. The 33-year-old is just 1-9 with a 6.03 ERA in 19 starts this year, but he's 1-1 with a 2.66 ERA in four career starts against the A's.
