A's Kemp calls out MLB analyst for old take doubting him

Ball don’t lie, and neither do screenshots.

Athletics utility man Tony Kemp didn’t forget the time baseball analyst Keith Law slept on him in 2014.

After the A’s promoted Khris Davis on Wednesday, Kemp posted a selfie of the two on Twitter as the designated hitter arrived at the visiting clubhouse in Detroit.

Law responded, saying he “10/10” would purchase the album, should the photo create cover art, but Kemp remembered the time Law said he didn’t think much of former Houston Astros prospect.

“You sure about that?!” Kemp responded via a tweet with a screenshot attached, followed by two grimace face emojis.

Back in 2014, Law was asked by a follower his thoughts on Kemp who, at the time, was in his second professional season with the Astros organization.

Law’s response?

“Not much,” Law tweeted. “Don’t see a role for him in the majors.”

Well, fast forward seven years, and Kemp has played in parts of six MLB season, and has established himself with the A’s the last two seasons.

Don’t worry, Law responded to Kemp and said he still would buy the album, and even wished Kemp congratulations on a “great year.”
