Tony Kemp is listed as the A's starting second baseman, but in the top of the third inning of Oakland's game Wednesday against the Rockies, he turned into half Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez and half Superman.
Kemp got caught in a pickle between third base and home plate with the A's down 1-0. The athletic second baseman went back and forth between throws before escaping the rundown, a la Benny "The Jet." He then flew through the air, perfectly maneuvered his body and somehow to avoided the tag at home plate to give the A's their first run of the day.

Kemp truly showed off an insane amount of athleticism here to score his 13th run of the year.

The A's acquired Kemp in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in January. Kemp, 28, mainly has played second base this season but also has spent time in left field. He entered Wednesday batting .244.
The A's came into Wednesday atop the AL West. Their 30-19 record is good for third in the AL.
