There were rumors that top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would make his long-awaited major league debut against the Giants earlier this week.

That didn't happen.

Instead, the 20-year-old third baseman will make his debut against the A's on Friday in Toronto.

The Blue Jays finally decided to promote the No. 1 prospect in baseball, making the announcement on Wednesday following their 4-0 loss to the Giants.

Vlad Jr. has been tearing up the minor leagues the last couple of years. This season, in just eight games with Triple-A Buffalo, he is hitting .367/.424/.700 with three home runs and eight RBI.
