It's the moment many baseball fans have been waiting for -- for far too long. But the day has come when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will sport a major league uniform, and he will do it against the A's in Toronto.

Guerrero, the 20-year-old son of the Hall of Fame slugger, hit .381/.437/.636 with 20 home runs and 78 RBI across four minor-league levels last season. He had a .367/.424/.700 slash line in eight games for Triple-A Buffalo, showing no effects from an oblique injury he suffered in spring training.

The Blue Jays are coming off a three-game series sweep last weekend against the Green and Gold in Oakland to finish a 6-1 road trip, and Marcus Stroman will have starting honors against Mike Fiers in Friday's matchup.

Fiers has allowed six runs in each of his past three starts, and is 0-1 with a rough 16.20 ERA with batters hitting .442 off him. He is 1-4 with a 4.50 ERA in eight career appearances against Toronto.

The A's have won four of their last five road games, which is good news heading into the matchup, and they currently lead Major League Baseball in runs and home runs per game.
