A's vs. Pirates lineups: Brett Anderson looks to continue success at PNC Park

To say the A's need this next win is an understatement.

The Green and Gold is coming off its second consecutive sweep, falling to both the Blue Jays and the Red Sox on the road. They will face the Pirates on Friday night as they conclude their nine-game East Coast road trip.

A's top prospect Skye Bolt recently was promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas, but he will not make his major league debut quite yet.

The Pirates defeated the Rangers twice this week and have won all four of their interleague games this season. They're 17-5 in interleague matchups since 2018, which is the best record in MLB. They will face A's left-hander Brett Anderson, who has a 5.86 ERA on the road and, over his career, he's started twice against the Pirates at PNC Park and boasts a 1.38 ERA against the host team.

The A's go up against Joe Musgrove, who has starting honors for the Pirates. Musgrove finished his fifth quality start of the season against the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing three runs across 6 2/3 innings.

Here are what the lineups look like for the A's-Pirates game, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports California and the MyTeams app. Coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. PT, with first pitch at 4:05.
