OAKLAND -- The A's will look to get back on track Friday night when they host the Texas Rangers in the second game of a four-game weekend series.

Oakland has lost four of its last five contests, including Thursday's series opener by a final score of 11-3. The A's still own the second American League wild-card position at 58-46.

Oakland will send out the same lineup as Thursday night, with one exception. Chris Herrmann will get the start at catcher, replacing Josh Phegley. Herrmann will bat eighth in the order.

Right-hander Daniel Mengden will be on the hill for the A's, seeking his sixth win of the season against just one loss. The 26-year-old enters with a 4.65 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 10 outings, including eight starts. Mengden is 1-3 with a 4.61 ERA in five career starts against Texas.

The Rangers will counter with 32-year-old Lance Lynn. The right-hander is having a strong season with a 12-6 record and a 3.93 ERA in 21 starts. He has struggled against Oakland, however, going 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in two career starts, both coming this year.
