Chris Bassitt dazzled on the mound in his own, erratic, yet effective way in his season debut Monday night to help the Green and Gold take the win over the Rangers, 6-1 in the series opener.

"Effectively wild, I guess," Bassitt told NBC Sports California's Ben Ross after the game. "It was kind of just fill the zone up with everything and hope for the best."

For Game 2 of the series, Lance Lynn will face off against Frankie Montas in Oakland.

Montas seeks his fourth win of the season while boasting a 2.70 ERA.

Coverage of A's-Rangers begins at 6:30 p.m. PT with A's Pregame Live on NBC Sports California and streaming on the MyTeams app.
