A's vs. Red Sox lineup: Jurickson Profar sits, Robbie Grossman returns

A day after making an error that cost the A's six runs in a 9-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox, second baseman Jurickson Profar is getting the night off.

During the third inning Monday night at Fenway Park, Profar fielded a ground ball and turned to fire to second base to begin the double play. But Profar bounced his throw to shortstop Marcus Semien, allowing both runners to reach and opening the floodgates for the Red Sox.

Profar will be replaced in Tuesday's lineup by Robbie Grossman, with Chad Pinder coming in from left field to man second base.

The A's, who have now lost four games in a row, will turn to right-hander Aaron Brooks to snap their losing streak. In his last start, Brooks was tagged for three runs in five innings against the Texas Rangers, a game the A's eventually won, 6-5.

Boston will counter with right-hander Rick Porcello.
