It's hard to make a better catch than Matt Chapman, but it happened Friday night.
A fantastic defensive play was made as the Athletics hosted the Baltimore Orioles at the Coliseum … and it was all in thanks to a cotton candy vendor.
Take a look at this catch:
A ricochet off the seat for a one-handed snag while holding on to the cotton candy? Sign him to a contract.
Talk about a two-way player.
“That is not easy,” NBC Sports California’s Dallas Braden said on the broadcast.
I couldn’t do it.
Mike Fiers took the mound for his first start of the season Friday after facing a setback due to a lumbar strain. In six innings, he struck out three, gave up six hits and three runs. It appeared he couldn’t get down his pitching location, but Mitch Moreland picked him up a bit after a solo shot off of Orioles’ John Means.
Mr. Cotton Candy vendor man had some real Chapman vibes.
