Why A's travel plans from Texas to Florida were derailed before Rays series

The A's are in the midst of a 10-game road trip and it has probably felt even longer than that.

A delayed flight from Texas to Florida one day after a double-header certainly doesn't help. After the A's barely held off the Rangers in their series finale Sunday, their plane was damaged and the team was forced to wait in the clubhouse for nearly another four hours.

The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reported Sunday that a thunderstorm below mobile stairs into the wing of the A's team plane.

To make matters worse, Slusser reported the new plane wouldn't be able to hold all of the A's equipment. The team had to air freight a portion of their equipment overnight for their 4:10 p.m. PT game against the Rays on Monday in Tampa Bay.

The A's have four wins and three losses on their current road trip with three games to go. It's been a long one, but winning solves everything.
