Kings Guard Gaming sets NBA 2K League record on way to win over Jazz Gaming

Esports

Kings Guard Gaming had quite an eventful night on Thursday while on their way to a win against Jazz Gaming and a 4-2 season record.

Not only did the Kings break an NBA 2K League record for the fewest amount of points given up in the first half of Game 1, but they also hit a game-winning shot with just seconds left in Game 2.

The Jazz, now 1-1, never really stood a chance in the first game, losing to the Kings 77-30. Most of that work was done in the first two quarters.

Kings Guard jumped out to a 17-1 run to start the game and it was smooth sailing after that. The Kings' defense held the Jazz to just seven points in the first half. Jazz Gaming had a hard time getting a shot up and when they did, the Kings' defense was suffocating shooters causing missed shot after missed shot.

Often times, no matter the sport, when a team is completely blown out in one game, they come out hot and ready to bounce back in the next. That's exactly what Jazz Gaming did in Game 2.

The Jazz held the lead for most of the game before the Kings made yet another incredible comeback and won 62-60 on a game-winning dunk by DatBoyShotz.

There was still 3.9 left on the clock after that dunk, but the Kings' defense stood up to hold on for the game and series win.

Kings Guard Gaming's team defense, led by Yusuf_Scarbz who was named to the All-Defense team last season, is proving to be one of the best in the league and a tough matchup for any opponent.

The defense will be put to the test next week when they face Blazer5 Gaming, currently sitting at a perfect 4-0.
