Undefeated Warriors Gaming Squad remains hot in win vs. Blazer5 Gaming

Warriors Gaming Squad remains undefeated in the NBA 2K League after defeating Blazer5 Gaming in a best-of-three series Friday Night.

WGS, now 6-0, faced one of their toughest opponents to date in B5, despite coming into Friday night's matchup riding a two-game losing streak. Don't let their current 4-3 record fool anyone. Blazer5 only has lost a handful of regular-season games in their franchise history and has the first two 2K League MVPs on their roster in Walnut and MamaImDatMan. It's just been a tough stretch for the team in the Northwest.

The Warriors, on the other hand, have been one of the hottest teams in the league and one of the two remaining undefeated squads.

It was a back-and-forth matchup all night and lived up to the "Matchup of the Night" tag deemed by the NBA 2K League broadcast. For just the second time this season, it took WGS all three games to wrap up the series win.

Game 1 ended in a 78-73 win for the Dubs, but connection issues caused a reset halfway through the second quarter, something both teams would need to get used to in this matchup.

Ultimately, the duo of CB13 and Bsmoove was too much for Blazer5 to stop in the first game. Bsmoove's shot from deep is difficult for any team to stop.

Blazer5 came back in Game 2 to take a 58-52 win over the Dubs, but not before both teams dealt with more connection issues. The Warriors were up two points with just three minutes left in the game when it was stopped for a reset. It ended up being quite a lengthy delay after the game had to be reset multiple times. Once everything was back up and running, WGS seemed to lose all momentum. B5 came out hot and dominated for the last three minutes of the game.

Warriors Gaming Squad wouldn't let the Game 2 loss affect them in the last game of the series. Game 3 wasn't very close for much of the game with WGS running away with a 71-58 win to clinch the series. It was a strong third quarter by the Dubs which really put a gap in the score to help lead them to a win.

CB13 continues to put on a show every night for the Warriors. Coming into Friday night's matchup against B5, the NBA 2K League announced that the Warriors point guard is one of four players up for the league's Player of the Month award.

CB13's numbers not only make him deserving of Player of the Month but also puts him in the league MVP discussion, though it's still early in the season.

The NBA 2K League has just one week left of remote gameplay remaining. It's unclear what's going to happen after Week 6, whether the league will continue with the same format in remote play, or if there's a possibility of in-person matches. Nothing official has been announced just yet.

WGS faces just one matchup in Week 6 against Jazz Gaming, currently sitting at 3-1 on the season.
