Giants baseball is back!

The San Francisco Giants begin the 2019 season in San Diego when they take on the Padres on Thursday on Opening Day. Madison Bumgarner will take the hill for the Giants, while fellow left-hander Eric Lauer will start for the Padres.

It's the fifth Opening Day start of Bumgarner's career, and he'll look to get off on the right foot after a disappointing season a year ago that was shortened by injury. Bumgarner holds an 11-9 record and has posted a 3.32 ERA, 1.052 WHIP and .217 opponents' batting average in 32 career appearances (31 starts) against San Diego, recording 204 strikeouts in 203 1/3 innings.
