Giants bench coach Alyssa Nakken made history on Opening Day this season.
She became the first female full-time coach in MLB, and even coached first base for the Giants during an exhibition game at Oracle Park just a few days before the opener in Los Angeles.
Fittingly, Nakken’s jersey from that game at Dodger Stadium now occupies a display at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

A former Sacramento State softball player, Nakken joined the organization as a baseball operations intern in 2014. After manager Gabe Kapler was tapped to replace Bruce Bochy after the 2019 season, he included Nakken on his first coaching staff.
