With a strikeout of Dodgers right fielder Rob Segedin to begin the bottom of the fourth inning Tuesday night, Madison Bumgarner achieved a franchise-first.

Bumgarner became the first left-handed pitcher in Giants franchise history to strike out 200 batters in three consecutive seasons.

Four other Giants pitchers, all right-handed, have accomplished the feat: Tim Lincecum, Juan Marichal, Christie Mathewson and Amos Rusie.

Bumgarner struck out 219 in 2014, 234 in 2015 and has 201 and counting this season after striking out Kenta Maeda to finish the fourth inning.

The 27-year-old finished with 199 strikeouts in 2013 and 191 in both 2011 and 2012.
