Buster Posey, Giants make MLB history in Game 3 shutout vs. Dodgers

Buster Posey and the Giants have accomplished a lot together.

After shutting out the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, Posey and the Giants now have the most shutouts this year, between the regular season and postseason.

The Giants shutout the Dodgers in both of their wins in the NLDS, adding on to their franchise total, which ranks second in MLB history.

Not only has Posey caught 51 percent of the postseason shutouts in Giants' franchise history, but the veteran catcher has caught more postseason shutouts than any catcher in MLB history.

Tonight was the 14th time Buster Posey was the starting catcher in a game his team won via shutout, which was already by far the most of any catcher in postseason history:
