Posey brings power back to position, hits second homer of 2021

The Giants didn't get much power from their catchers in 2020, but Buster Posey is working hard to change that right away to start the 2021 campaign.

Posey hit his second home run in as many games Friday night, crushing this ball to right-center for the Giants' first run of the game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

In the truncated 60-game season last summer, Giants catchers hit only four homers. Chadwick Tromp hit each of them.

Posey opted out of the 2020 season after he and his wife adopted newborn twin girls.

The former NL MVP hit just seven home runs in his last full season in 2019, and he's only five away from matching that with 160 games to go.

The Giants are hoping Posey's bat stays hot as they look to avenge a frustrating Opening Day loss to the Mariners.
