It was a scoreless contest Monday night in Game 3 of the National League Division Series between the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers, until Evan Longoria came to the plate in the top of the fifth inning.

The Giants' third baseman stroked a fastball from Dodgers starter Max Scherzer over the left field wall for the first run of the game.

Longoria's homer was his first postseason home run in eight years.

The solo shot gave the Giants a 1-0 lead against Scherzer, who had previously thrown four shutout innings while striking out eight batters.
