It was a sea of familiar faces for Sergio Romo when the Marlins hosted the Giants this week.
The three-game stint in South Beach concluded on Thursday with the Giants topping the Marlins, 3-1, but began on Tuesday with Romo gifting his former skipper something to show his appreciation -- a 1942 bottle of Don Julio tequila.
“I went over there before [Tuesday's] game,” Romo said on Wednesday to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. “I went over there and said, 'What's up?' I had a gift for him. I gave him a token of appreciation for the faith and trust that he had in me for all those years. I feel I can count the amount of people that have taken a chance on me in my life on two hands, and he's on that. He's one of those fingers."

The two experienced a lot together including three World Series titles and Romo appeared to still be close with the organization. Prior to that third game, Javier López, who spent seven seasons with the Orange and Black and now an analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area, exchanged a few friendly words with Romo on the field.

They didn't appear to skip a beat.
"I talked to him. He came by. I had a nice talk with him," Bochy said on Tuesday. "It was great to see him. Happy he's still doing well. I'll never forget what he did for us in the bullpen and the good times we've had."
