Former Giants reliever Sherfy claimed by rival Dodgers

One former Giants reliever will trade his orange and black threads for some Dodger blue.

Right-handed relief pitcher Jimmie Sherfy has been claimed by Los Angeles after having pitched a combined 18 1/3 innings with the Giants major league team and Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats.

Having spent some time with the Giants at the major league level this season, Sherfy appeared in 10 2/3 innings, surrendering five runs, striking out nine batters and walking four.

In 56 career innings over three-plus seasons, Sherfy has compiled a 3.21 career ERA while averaging about a strikeout per inning.
