The Giants locked up two key pieces in a draft class they hope will one day help lead the organization back to contention.
First-round pick Hunter Bishop and second-rounder Logan Wyatt both have signed under-slot deals, according to Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline. Bishop, taken 10th overall, will get $4.1 million. Wyatt, taken 51st overall, will get $1 million. Callis also reported that fourth-round pick Tyler Fitzgerald and eighth-rounder Caleb Killian have signed.
Those first two deals come in nearly $1 million under their slot values, allowing the Giants to spread that money elsewhere. They already have signed the majority of their draft class, with multiple high-upside picks later in the draft signing above-slot deals.

Killian, a hard-throwing right-hander, got more than $200,000 above slot, according to Callis.
The Giants previously had announced the signings of 23 players.

Bishop is the top player in the class, a power-hitting outfielder from Arizona State who grew up in the Bay Area. After the draft, he said he’s excited about taking aim at McCovey Cove.

"I definitely know it's a big ballpark, but you see guys like Barry (Bonds) hit it out all the time," Bishop said. "If you've got power, you can hit it out anywhere. I'm looking forward to one day playing at that ballpark, but I know I've got a lot of work to do to get there."
Wyatt, a first baseman, is known for his patient approach, and like Fitzgerald, a shortstop, he went to Louisville. Those two, plus Texas Tech’s Killian, had to wait to sign because they were playing in the College World Series.
