No big surprises in Giants' Game 1 NLDS lineup vs. Dodgers

NBC Sports

SAN FRANCISCO -- For their MLB playoff opener, the Giants are going with a lineup they haven't used all year. Gabe Kapler will send a familiar group of eight out against Dodgers co-ace Walker Buehler, but there's a new order as the Giants alternate lefties and righties.

Here's how they'll line up Friday night at Oracle Park for Game 1 of the National League Division Series:

Wade Jr. is hitting fifth for the first time this year and Crawford and Posey are three-four for just the second time, but the more notable part of the lineup might be who is missing. Kris Bryant, Evan Longoria and Wilmer Flores got the nod over Darin Ruf, and Steven Duggar is starting the night on the bench despite being 5-for-18 against Buehler with a homer, triple and double. Duggar had a huge two-run triple when the Giants hung six runs on Buehler the last time they saw him, but he has struck out eight times in their matchups.

The Giants will take the field in this series without Brandon Belt (fractured thumb) and the Dodgers are without Max Muncy, who injured his elbow on the final day of the season. Here's what they'll look like against Logan Webb, who allowed four earned runs in three starts against the Dodgers this season:
