With a single to lead off the bottom of the second inning, Pablo Sandoval extended his postseason hitting streak to 14 games, three away from tying the record of 17 held by Manny Ramirez, Derek Jeter and Hank Bauer.
Harper robs Crawford
With runners on first and second, Brandon Crawford hit a ball to deep left field, but Bryce Harper made a leaping catch for the second out of the bottom of the second inning.
Bumgarner pitches seven innings
Giants starter Madison Bumgarner didn't allow a run through six innings, but his outing unraveled in the seventh in large part because of his throwing error that allowed the Nationals to score two runs. Bumgarner's final line: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K.

Nationals take advantage of error
Ian Desmond led off the seventh inning with a single. Bryce Harper followed with a walk. Wilson Ramos attempted to sacrifice them over, but Madison Bumgarner tried to nail the lead runner at third base. Instead, he threw the ball down the left field line, allowing Desmond and Harper to score.
Nationals take 3-0 lead
The next batter, Asdrubal Cabrera, singled to left and Wilson Ramos slid in ahead of Buster Posey's tag to give the Nationals a 3-0 lead.
Harper homers in ninth
Bryce Harper gave the Nationals a 4-0 lead in the top of the ninth with a solo home run into the right field seats. It was his second home run of the series.
Nationals force Game 4
The Giants plated one against Nationals closer Drew Storen, but they would get no closer as Washington's win pushed the series to Game 4, set for Tuesday at 6:07 p.m.
