The Giants recalled outfielder Jarrett Parker on Monday and optioned outfielder Mac Williamson back down to Triple-A Sacramento River Cats in a corresponding move.

Parker, 27, showed his power potential last season in his time up with the Giants. In 21 games played, Parker hit .347/.407/.755 with six home runs.

As a rookie, Parker had one of the most memorable games in Giants history. Parker hit three homers, including a go-ahead grand slam, in a 14-10 win over the A’s on Sept. 25, 2015.

His hot streak put him in historical context of baseball history.

Parker became the first Giant since Barry Bonds in 2004 to homer five times in nine at-bats. He was the first Giants rookie since Brandon Belt in 2011 to homer in three straight games. He was the first MLB rookie since Andrew McCutchen in 2009 to homer three times in a game. And Parker was the first Giant since Pablo Sandoval in 2013 to hit three homers in a game.

Most impressive, Parker was the first Giant to hit three homers and drive in seven runs since Willie Mays in 1961.

Williamson has played in eight games for the Giants this season. In those eight games, he has hit .188/.235/.250 with six strikeouts.

The Giants play the Blue Jays Monday night at 7:15 p.m. on CSN Bay Area. Coverage begins with Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m.
