Giants vs. Orioles lineups: San Francisco makes rare trip to Baltimore

BALTIMORE -- The Giants have the oldest lineup in the majors, so you would think it would be hard to find a place where most the team hasn't played, but a trip to Camden Yards this weekend will be a first for the majority of the core.

Through a quirk of interleague scheduling, the Giants haven't played at Camden Yards since 2004, when their starters for a three-game series were Dustin Hermanson, Noah Lowry and Jerome Williams.

Here's the lineup from the first game of that series, held June 12, 2004:

Michael Tucker RF
Dustan Mohr DH
Marquis Grissom CF
Barry Bonds LF
Edgardo Alfonzo 3B
A.J. Pierzynski C
Pedro Feliz SS
Damon Minor 1B
Neifi Perez 2B

The winning pitcher that day was Matt Herges, who threw three innings out of the bullpen. He's now the team's bullpen coach.

The Giants took two of three in that series and should do at least the same, if not more, against an Orioles team that's the worst in the majors this season. Here's the lineups for Game 1:

San Francisco Giants (22-33)

Joe Panik 2B
Mike Yastrzemski LF
Buster Posey C
Brandon Belt 1B
Pablo Sandoval DH
Evan Longoria 3B
Brandon Crawford SS
Kevin Pillar RF
Steven Duggar CF
Drew Pomeranz LHP (1-5, 6.45 ERA)

Baltimore Orioles (17-39)
Hanser Alberto 3B
Jonathan Villar 2B
Trey Mancini 1B
Renato Nunez DH
Pedro Severino C
DJ Stewart RF
Keon Broxton CF
Dwight Smith Jr. LF
Richie Martin SS
Andrew Cashner RHP (5-2, 4.55 ERA)

It's an unfamiliar matchup and ballpark, but at least one Giant should feel right at home. Evan Longoria, the longtime Tampa Bay Ray, has 40 career homers against the Orioles. His 21 homers at Camden Yards are the fourth-most by a visiting player.
