Giants vs. Red Sox lineups: Buster Posey back catching, batting fifth

Share

With Bruce Bochy's 2,000th career win in the books, the Giants manager is going with a much different lineup Thursday at Fenway Park.

Multiple players are getting the day off in the Giants' series finale with the Red Sox, but there's a notable return. Buster Posey is back in the lineup to catch Madison Bumgarner.

Posey has been dealing with a back issue and hasn't played since Sept. 14. He'll bat fifth, somewhere he's been placed just five times this season.

The veteran catcher has played just nine games this month, but is batting .281 in that span.

Here are how the lineups look to shape up as the Red Sox play host to the Giants. You can follow the action on NBC Sports Bay Area or by downloading and streaming on the MyTeams app.
