Giants vs. Rockies lineups: Evan Longoria returns after three-week injury

Share

The Giants received a big boost Sunday with the return of third baseman Evan Longoria.

San Francisco reinstated Longoria from the 10-day injured list and sent Zach Green down to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Longoria found himself on the shelf right when he was catching fire at the plate. Through nine games in July, the 32-year-old was hitting .400 with six home runs. He hasn't played since July 14.

In his second season with the Giants, Longoria is batting .241 with 13 home runs and a .764 OPS. He'll bat fifth in his return to the lineup against the Rockies.

Coverage begins at 11:00 a.m. PT with Giants Pregame Live on NBC Sports Bay Area and streaming on the My Teams app.
