Giants vs. Rockies lineups: Jeff Samardzija gets ball in doubleheader Game 1

Share

The Giants entered the All-Star break playing good baseball, and the mini-vacation didn't seem to slow them down.

Bruce Bochy's ballclub opened the second half of the season by taking two out of three from the Milwaukee Brewers, and they now head to Coors Field to play four games in three days against the Colorado Rockies, including a doubleheader Monday.

In Game 1 of the double-dip, Bochy will send right-hander Jeff Samardzija to the hill. The veteran right-hander has pitched well in each of his last two outings, including throwing seven scoreless frames against the St. Louis Cardinals in his final start prior to the All-Star break.

The Rockies will counter with right-hander German Marquez who allowed two earned runs in five innings in his last start against the Giants -- a 6-3 Rockies win on June 26.
