Hunter Pence has MLB contract offers, earns praise in winter ball

Hunter Pence joined the Toros del Este in the Dominican Winter League with a new swing and the same positive mindset. And, of course, to enjoy every second of the game, just like he always has.

"I came to have fun every time I go out on the field," Pence told Ángel Luis Mercedes of the team's website.

The results have followed the fun, too. The former Giants outfielder helped lead his team to the playoffs, and he had three hits Thursday. Through eight games, Pence is batting .276 with one home run.

Pence says he has several offers from MLB teams, though the specifics are unknown. His team has won six of the eight games he's played in, and his infectious energy has been felt by his new teammates.

"I grew up watching Hunter Pence, and seeing him playing with that enthusiasm and that harmony is something that makes you feel good as a player," infielder Ronny Rodriguez said.

It's a mystery what's to come next. We can count on one thing, though: The dance parties after wins will continue; the inspirational speeches will never stop; and as his current team's hitting coach in the DR has noted, players always will follow Pence, thanks to his passion.
