SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants are 33 games into the second half. They are still looking for their first three-game winning streak.

Coming off two straight offense-heavy wins, the Giants went down relatively quietly against Bartolo Colon and the Mets. They gave up three homers in a 9-5 loss that dropped them back into a temporary tie first place with the Dodgers.

Yoenis Cespedes hit two of the homers, one off Matt Moore and one off Jake Peavy, who couldn’t keep the game close. Alejandro De Aza, who was briefly a Giant last year, added a big three-run blast.

Moore was in trouble from the start, allowing three straight hits to lead off the game. Cespedes hit a 457-foot blast to left-center in the third and Moore would be done by the end of the fifth. He it still looking for his first win as a Giant.

Peavy entered with the Mets leading 3-2. De Aza’s homer was the key part of a four-run sixth. Cespedes added a long solo blast in the seventh.

The Giants got three runs back during a walk-filled rally in the eighth, but it wasn't nearly enough.

Starting pitching report: The five-inning start was Moore’s shortest since June 2. In four starts for the Giants he has pitched 23 innings and walked 17.

Bullpen report: Peavy had allowed one run in his previous seven relief appearances.

At the plate: Panik is starting to look like Panik again, with 11 hits — five for extra bases — over his past 10 games. He might be back in that No. 2 spot if the Angel Pagan injury lingers.

In the field: Pagan appeared to injure himself chasing down a fly ball early in the game. He was removed with right groin tightness.

Attendance: I say it every year: Do not give in to the “throw it back” pressure. A fan caught the first Cespedes blast and threw it back on the field about 30 seconds later. Denard Span threw it to Pagan. Pagan threw it to the ball dude. The ball dude handed it to another fan, who got to go home with a Cespedes home run ball.

Up next: One of the best hair matchups of the year. Jeff Samardzija takes on Noah Syndergaard.
