Schwarber joins Giants legend Bonds in elite HR company

Kyle Schwarber's dominant power surge continued on Monday, as the slugger joined a pair of all-time home run hitters with his 15th over a 17-game span.

Barry Bonds hit 15 home runs over a 17-game span in 2001 from May 17-June 4, batting .389 over the stretch with 22 RBI. The MLB all-time leader in walks also drew 20 over that stretch, including eight intentional walks.

Schwarber, whose tear ironically began against the Giants on June 12, has hit .343 over his streak with 26 RBI and walked eight times.

Sosa's 1998 hot streak lasted from May 25-June 16, as the then-Chicago Cubs star hit .324 and drove in 32 RBI while drawing six walks.

There might not be a player in the modern baseball era with as many ridiculous stats to his name as Bonds, so Schwarber matching the slugger shows just how amazing he has been over that span.

Schwarber joined the Washington Nationals this offseason after six seasons with the Chicago Cubs.

The first home run of Schwarber's hot streak came to leadoff a Kevin Gausman start and is one of just seven home runs the Giants' ace has surrendered in 2021.

Someone get this guy into the home run derby.
