This has to be a dream come true for Hunter Bishop.
Every young athlete can only dream of playing for their favorite team when they grow up. Bishop, the Giants' No. 10 pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, can make that dream come true in San Francisco.
The Palo Alto native grew up going to Giants games and watching Barry Bonds smash Splash Hit home runs. He would even mimic Bonds in his backyard. If you need more proof of his lifelong fandom, check out this picture of Bishop smiling in a full Giants uniform as a child.

While Bishop would try to copy Bonds' home runs with a wiffle ball bat, he also has an eerily similar background to the all-time home runs leader. Both left-handed power-hitting outfielders went to Serra High School in San Mateo before playing collegiately for Arizona State University. They even have MLB family ties.
Barry's father Bobby played 14 seasons in the majors -- seven with the Giants -- and Hunter's brother Braden is currently an outfielder with the Mariners.
And Bishop believes he can do what Bonds and a select group of others have done in San Francisco: Make Oracle Park look small.

"I definitely know it's a big ballpark, but you see guys like Barry hit it out all the time," Bishop told reporters on Monday night. "If you've got power, you can hit it out anywhere."
The dream has only just begun for Hunter Bishop.
