Mets manager Terry Collins, who will also manage the National League in this year's MLB All-Star Game, announced Friday that his starting pitcher Bartolo Colon will replace Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner at the Midsummer Classic.

Bumgarner is set to start the Sunday before the All-Star Game, making him ineligible to pitch in the game. He will still be a part of all the festivities in San Diego.

The Giants' ace is making his fourth straight All-Star team this year. In 18 games started, Bumgarner is 9-4 with a 2.09 ERA and has recorded 132 strikeouts in 120.2 innings pitched.

Colon, 43, is making his third All-Star Game, and first since he was on the A's in 2013. He made his first All-Star Game back in 1998 with the Indians.

In his 19th season, the veteran is 7-4 with a 3.28 ERA over 98.2 innings pitched.

The MLB All-Star Game is being played at the Padres' home field Petco Park on July 12, at 5:00 p.m. PT.
