Roger Goodell at the NFL draft. Rob Manfred at the World Series. Mike Trout answering to a controversy in the fantasy football league he leads involving Giants outfielder Joc Pederson and Cincinnati Reds slap enthusiast Tommy Pham.

What do all three of these men have in common?

"Every commissioner I know gets booed," Trout told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s game between the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees.

A lot has been uncovered about Trout's fantasy football league in the last few days. Let's recap.

On Friday, Pham and Pederson had to be separated during batting practice at Great American Ball Park ahead of the Giants-Reds series opener. Rumors began to swirl during the game about the incident once Pham was scratched from Cincinnati's lineup just minutes before first pitch. Sure enough, Pederson confirmed after the game that Pham slapped him on the field over an old fantasy football dispute.

The next day, video of the slap leaked on social media, and Pham was handed a three-game suspension. The Reds outfielder claimed he planted five fingers on Pederson's cheek because of "disrespectful" comments, which turned out to be Pederson innocently sending a GIF in the league group chat poking fun at the San Diego Padres, Pham's former team, for missing the postseason.

On Tuesday night, Pham returned from his suspension, revealed Trout is the league's acting leader and called the three-time AL MVP "the worst commissioner in fantasy sports."

"It’s in the past," Trout said Wednesday. "You guys are a dragging it on. But it’s a legendary fantasy football league, that’s for sure. Tommy, everybody who was involved in that, is very passionate about fantasy football.

"A lot of people put their hearts into it. I do, too. I lost that league."

As for the future of the league? Trout wouldn't commit to serving another term as league commissioner. Perhaps he'll slap team owners with a hefty fine if any physical altercations occur in the future.
