On the same day that Brandon Belt reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, another former Giants player found a new home.

The New York Post's Jon Heyman reported late Monday night that former Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto has agreed to a contract with the Miami Marlins in free agency. The details of the contract have not been reported.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported last Wednesday, citing sources, that the Marlins, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds were among the teams interested in Cueto.

Cueto signed a six-year, $130 million contract with the Giants prior to the 2016 season. The two-time All-Star posted a 39-27 record with a 3.81 ERA in 614.0 innings pitched during six seasons with San Francisco.

After the Giants declined Cueto's $22 million option for 2022 following a down 2021 season, the 15-year MLB veteran signed a one-year, $4.2 million contract with the Chicago White Sox last season where he posted an 8-10 record with a 3.35 ERA in 158.1 innings pitched.

Cueto, who turns 37 years old in February, is set to join his fifth team in nine seasons.
