MLB trade deadline: Should Giants buy or sell? Alex Pavlovic weighs in

Will the Giants be buyers or sellers at the MLB trade deadline?

NBC Sports Bay Area Giants insider Alex Pavlovic joined the MLB Trade Deadline Show on Wednesday morning and noted that "nobody knows" yet whether the team will be a buyer or a seller. With pitchers Maidson Bumgarner and Will Smith being two of the biggest trade chips on the market, the Giants will take plenty of calls about their left-handers if they choose to sell.

Sitting with a 54-53 record, the Giants are right on the border of being real contenders in the NL wild-card chase and potentially falling out of the race entirely.

Check out the video above for Pavlovic's take on the Giants' strategy.

Editor's note: Video was recorded before the Giants reportedly traded relievers Drew Pomeranz and Ray Black for Brewers No. 3 prospect Mauricio Dubon.
