After losing Ryan Madson to the A's Sunday, the Royals wasted little time replacing him.

Late Sunday night, Kansas City reunited with free agent reliever Joakim Soria on a three-year, $25 million deal, according to multiple national reports.

Soria broke into the major leagues with Royals in 2007.

News emerged Monday afternoon that the Giants and Tigers were reportedly the runners up for Soria's services, according to CBS Sports.

While it's fairly clear that the Giants' priorities this offseason are the starting rotation and left field, they did lose trusted veteran Jeremy Affeldt to retirement.

In 72 appearances in 2015 between the Tigers and Pirates, Soria finished with a 2.53 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 67.2 innings.

Sunday morning, Madson agreed to a three-year, $22 million deal with the A's. The 35-year-old spent 2015 with the Royals after missing three seasons due to arm injuries.
